We finally got ahold of the wiring diagram for our Ural. Somehow, I suspect this will be very helpful in the future. It looks complicated, but really, once you figure out how to read it, it’s really quite a simple setup. Click the image to see the larger version.

I think our Ural was made by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Separated at birth?

I'm getting farther and farther from Boston! Since college, I've moved from Allston, to Medford, and now to Woburn. And while I still love keeping up with the... ah... civil discourse on B0st0n and Davis_square, They're not as helpful to me up here. Are there any communities for the metro north area that I don't know about, or would there be demand for one? |

i failed out of university last year (due to a bunch of undiagnosed psychological issues; social anxiety and perfectionism being the couple which have also prevented me from telling people about my problems). I've applied to other universities, but because of my dismal grades, I've been rejected. My other friends are working, or are in university and doing really well. I've always been around high-achievers, so this makes me feel even worse about myself. I'm already 21 and have NOTHING to my name. Sure, I've felt really lousy many times before. But nothing tops this. My dad's a very well-respected man in the education field. And his daughter is a failure at school. On top of feeling bad about myself, I feel bad for my parents as well because I can't live up to everyone else's expectations (and yes, this does bother me. a lot.). And despite the fact that they tell me it's OK and that there'll always other options out there, I know this does bother them...! I really wish I could tell my parents (or some one) that i need help, but i just can't bring myself to... (x-posted) |

From TPM.
This isn't for the squeamish. It's about as hardball and brutal as it gets. The liberal group CREDO Action will soon ask over 1,000,000 members to sign a petition condemning the Stupak amendment...and with each signature, CREDO will send a coat hanger to the 20 supposedly pro-choice members of Congress who voted for it. "We know what happens when women are denied access to reproductive health care including abortion," the petition reads. "And we can't go back to an era of coat hangers and back alley abortions. Reconsider your vote on the Stupak Amendment. Tell House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that the final health care bill that emerges from the conference committee can't turn the clock back on women's rights." The email hasn't been sent yet, but you can read the language below the fold.

I would like to throw a surprise party for my boyfriend's 25th this year, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a venue. I'd love to have a private room somewhere with good food, and even a dance floor if possible. (Our friend is great with an iPod playlist.) I was thinking Maggiano's, because it's one of his favorite restaurants, but it runs $40/person. I'd love to keep things around $20/plate if possible. Right now the guest list ranges from 50-75. Any suggestions? (He enjoys Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, American, Italian...you name it, as long as the food is good.) Thanks!! |

When I reintroduced myself on here, I was adamantly against going on medication. Well, all it took was two months of severe depression to cause me to give in. A short medication history. I tried Zoloft at the tale end of high school and the summer prior to college. I don't think it did anything, I was still depressed and self-destructive. My first year in college was marked by a medical withdrawal and hospital stays. I was put on Remeron and Ambien. I eventually stopped the medication cold turkey and "snapped out of it." I can't really judge if the medication helped since I smoked so much weed and drank all the time. I've done some growing up over the three years since (not doing drugs anymore, less drinking, getting on track with school, marriage, etc), but I'm still mentally interesting, and I'm trying Prozac for the first time. Looks like I'll be starting out with 20 mg. I'm nervous about side effects, and I do feel a bit hazy. We'll see. I guess I just want to be one of those miracle stories, and have all this crap go away. I need to be realistic though, and wait. Even then, it probably won't happen. That's all.

I’ve discussed here before the fact that I don’t sleep much. Most of that is natural short-sleeping; I sleep through the night, it’s just a short night – usually around 1a-7am. However, sometimes I just can’t get to sleep, or I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back asleep. I would hesitate to call it insomnia, because it doesn’t happen often, but it happens enough that I have a strategy for dealing with it. You see, if I can’t sleep, I simply don’t. If I roll around in bed for more than half an hour after turning the lights off, I just get up. There are few things less productive and more frustrating than rolling around in bed trying to fall asleep, so why do it? Read More...Originally published at Kick in the Breeches. Tuesday night I am being nice and driving my brother to the BU basketball game at Agganis Arena. I'm not going to the game but I want to hang out in the area so I can drive him home after. I know there is a Starbucks nearby but is there any other place where I could hang out for a few hours and read or do some work while he's at the game? |

UPDATE: SOLD! Thanks for your advice, everyone! :D Hello b0st0n! I'm planning on selling a clarinet I've had for years. I checked the Memories and didn't see anything about selling musical instruments. I searched Yelp for stores that weren't guitar-only and only found one (Rayburn Music), and they didn't seem too enthusiastic about buying used instruments (or maybe I'm wrong). Does anyone know of any other places around Boston that buy used instruments? Thanks! |
